Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree to become a mental health Councillor. She is the author of Blue-black Tears of a Father and Child, Shades of Blue and the upcoming book, Freed. She donates to the house of Ruth, The Men Mission for the Homeless, volunteers at Bea and Gaddy’s Family Centre. She is currently a mentor for Cadets girl scouts.
The inspiration behind V.O.W is my mother Theresa Oliver who is a domestic violence and abuse survivor. I was born into what appeared to be a normal family. However, beneath the surface, was an ugly and painful reality that adversely impacted my family’s life. Abuse is not love! It is a sickness. Make no mistake; abuse plagues many homes and lives. Although it’s painful for me to recount and relive the pain that happened in our lives, my hope is that V.O.W will help women improve the quality of their lives.
